Welcome to week 2 of the Whimsical Flowers stitch along. This week we take the stitching up a notch as we stitch 8 new flowers. We will learn Turkey work stitch, raised fishbone, traditional fishbone, and satin stitch. We will also review making filled detached chain stitch, French knots, straight puff stitch, and backstitch. Let’s get to the stitching.
Today we learn to make the Turkey work stitch using loops instead of its traditional cut ends. We will also review backstitch, and French knots.
For our second day this week we are making two flowers. First we learn to make raised fishbone stitch for the pink flower and then we make a straight puff stitch flower for the orange.
Day 8 is another double flower day. We review filled detached chain stitch in contrasting colors, and French knots.
Today we are making our first satin stitch flower. We will learn to make satin stitch that curves around a shape. We will also learn how to make the pistil stitch.
For the last day in week 2, we are making a pair of fishbone flowers. This time we will learn to make the traditional fishbone stitch.
