It’s the final week of our stitch along! This week we learn to make one of my favorite flowers in this hoop, the wrapped puff flower. Then, we finish the rest of the small flowers. Next, we stitch the lettering and cover some basic tips for stitching script lettering. Finally, we finish by filling in the grass around the stems with some free form stitches.
This is the stand out flower for the hoop. It can be a bit trick to figure out the first time you make it. Just take it slow and remember to work in 3’s.

This is our second satin stitch flower for our Whimsical Flowers stitch along. This time we will be working on parallel stitches with backstitch and straight stitch accents.
This is our last flower day. We will make a lazy daisy flower (or detached chain). Then we will fill in the rest of the small bud flowers with French knots.
For the second to last day, we work on the lettering. We use backstitch, and cover the basics for making great stitched letters. We also talk about how to make sharp corners and smooth curves found in script hand lettering.
On the last day of stitching we combine all the skill you have learned to make free form grass around the stems. It’s such a great way to finish your hoop. You get to decide where and how many stitches to make. You are finished when your hoop feels done.
You did such an amazing job! I hope you have loved getting to stitch and enjoy this hoop. If you missed the previous weeks you can find Week 2 HERE, and Week 1 HERE. If you happen to have found this without having a Whimsical Flowers Kit or Pattern you can find theme HERE.
