Stitch along in real time as I make the Nativity Angel hoop. This tutorial is meant for both the 4″ and 8″ hoop sizes. We will learn to make long and short stitch, whipped backstitch, chain stitch, and stem stitch. The Nativity Angel tutorial is split up into two parts. Let’s get stitching.
The videos below can be viewed here in this post or on YouTube. If you are viewing this on a phone, I recommend watching the tutorial in the YouTube app. This will allow you to use your full screen, and let you see all the little details.
In part 1 we will be stitching the Angel body. The body is made up of long and short stitch. Along the way I cover how best to make the colors blend together to make an ombre color fade through the body.
In part 2 we stitch the head, halo, and wings. This part covers making whipped backstitch, chain stitch, stem stitch and use straight stitches to make the wings. Stitching the wings is a fun experiment where you get to decide how much or how little you do, making each hoop unique.
If you have any questions about stitching this hoop, supplies or embroidery in general I would be happy to answer them. You can comment on this post or reach out to me here. Happy stitching!
